If you have not already done so by calling our 800 number, SGS will begin contacting you from our Customer Service Center in order to schedule your inspection appointment prior to your lease termination. Subsequent attempts to reach you will occur periodically until your lease termination date, an appointment is scheduled, or SGS is notified by your lease provider an inspection is no longer required.
Once your appointment is scheduled it is assigned to a SGS Vehicle Inspector and Dispatched by our Customer Service Center. The Inspectors follow any special instructions provided during the scheduling process, so please be sure to provide as much detail as you feel comfortable providing to assist them in locating you and your vehicle. Upon arrival the Inspectors introduce themselves and briefly explain the inspection process. All SGS Inspectors have a photo ID badge, so please don’t hesitate to ask for identification.
The inspection process typically lasts from 30 to 45 minutes and includes digital imaging. Inspectors will not drive the vehicle, but they will need the keys to start it and test all electrical functions. Upon completion the inspector will print an inspection report and review the results with you. SGS Inspectors are not privy to lease provider policies, so please refer all questions regarding next steps or possible actions on your part to your lease provider. The inspector will be happy to provide you with their 800 Customer Service number. The Inspector will ask you to sign your inspection report as acknowledgement it was completed, but your signature in no way implies you are bound or liable to pay any possible damage amounts noted on the report.
The inspection report results and images are then electronically transmitted to your lease provider so they are informed of its completion. The inspection report data transmission times to your lease provider vary according to their processes, but are always available to your lease provider within 24 hours of inspection.
SGS Vehicle Inspectors are highly trained and experienced specialists. When your inspection is performed by SGS, you can be confident knowing it was inspected by a true independent third party and the industry’s leading provider.
